Using the Knowledge Assistant

Learn how to use the Knowledge Assistant to get answers fast.

Joy’s Knowledge Assistant is your very own AI helper that answers questions, researches topics, generates content, and more.

To start chatting with the Knowledge Assistant, click the Knowledge Assistant icon. Knowledge Assistant icon.

This will open the chat window where you can talk to the Knowledge Assistant.

If this is your first time talking to the Assistant, you will start a new chat. If you have previously chatted with the Assistant, you will be able to pick up from the last message that you sent.

Type your question or request (called a prompt) into the chat, then press Enter.

The Knowledge Assistant will reply using information from your Knowledge Center and the web.


Parts of the chat window

The Knowledge Assistant’s chat window has three distinct areas. Along the top of the window are icons to close the menu that lists your chats () and hide the Knowledge Assistant ().

Below this are two areas.

In the menu, you can start a new chat and revisit previous chats with the Knowledge Assistant. Click the New Chat button to start a new conversation. When you send your first message, Joy uses it as the name of the chat and includes it in the menu. This makes it easy to find previous chats, allowing you to review them or continue where you left off.

The chat area is where you type your questions or requests (prompts) and see the Assistant’s responses.

Starting a new chat

To start a new chat with the Knowledge Assistant, click New Chat.

We recommend starting a new chat whenever you switch to a new topic or task to get the best responses and keep your chat history organized. For example, you might have one chat that’s related to a specific client, a different chat focused on a service that’s offered by your organization, and another where you go to discuss your organization’s internal policies.


Viewing previous chats

All of your chats are listed in the menu. Click on a chat to pick up where you left off.

Copying a response

You can easily copy the Knowledge Assistant’s answer to your question (called a response) to share with someone or use elsewhere. To copy a response, click the Copy icon. Copy icon below it.

For example, you may copy a response to include it in an email, document, or wherever you need it. The pasted response will retain the original formatting (bullets, bold text, etc.) used by the Knowledge Assistant.


Moving the Knowledge Assistant

You can reposition the Knowledge Assistant anywhere on your screen so that it’s out of the way but easily accessible.

To move the Knowledge Assistant, click in the top section of the chat window and drag it to a new position.

Resizing the Knowledge Assistant

To change the size of the Knowledge Assistant, click and drag the Corner icon. Corner icon.

Hiding the Knowledge Assistant

When you’re done using the Knowledge Assistant, you can hide it by clicking the Close icon Close icon.

Hiding the Knowledge Assistant closes the window but keeps your chats saved so that you can access them later.
